Open industry protocols

Lynk is designed for DALI/IEC 62386 environments so sites can mix and match certified gear from multiple vendors. Open standards increase choice, reduce lock-in risk, and drive competition while maintaining interoperability.

  • DALI derived from IEC 62386 open standard
  • DALI-2 certification improves multi-vendor compatibility
  • DT1 emergency devices covered under Part 202
Connect approved third-party emergency gear and controllers and keep a consistent test and reporting workflow.

Why this mesh

Built on OpenThread

OpenThread is an IPv6, low-power, self-healing mesh released by Google/Nest and developed with the Thread Group. It runs over IEEE 802.15.4 and brings reliable routing with IP-addressable devices.

Secure by design:

  • AES-CCM encryption and integrity on 802.15.4 and MLE
  • DTLS-protected MeshCoP commissioning with PSKd
  • Commissioner authenticates joiners without revealing network keys
  • Fleet-wide updates to maintain security posture over time

Certified testing when used with zencontrol

Pair Lynk with a zencontrol system and automatic testing is compliant with IEC 62034 as independently tested by TÜV SÜD.
It ensures compliant storage of test results and delivers confidence that tests, schedules, and records meet the benchmark international standard.

GRAPHICAL FLOORPLAN INTERFACE

An intuitive interface allows multi-site monitoring of lighting devices, enabling rapid fault identification and resolution. Monitor power usage, compliance records, and user access.

THROUGH-LIFE TRACEABILITY

From first commission to replacement, fittings retain verifiable histories of duration tests, faults, and maintenance actions. Export reports for audits and contractors.

OFFSITE, SECURE STORAGE

Test results and device data are automatically backed up and stored offsite in the zencontrol cloud on AWS. Authorised users access reports from anywhere, reducing risk if on-site hardware is lost or damaged.
